A write up from our farmer:
At Eden Free Range Chickens you will find chickens raised on our farm and processed in our own abattoir.
What does that mean? It means that we control the whole process from day-old chicks arriving on the farm until the fresh product is sold to our customers.
“Pasture, or free-range poultry” refers to a poultry production system that is characterized by chickens, turkeys or ducks being raised primarily on pasture. The birds supplement their grain feed by foraging for up to 20 percent of their intake and are often moved regularly to fresh pasture.
We pride our selves in the fact that we produce healthy chicken that is superior in taste and texture.
Our chickens are grain and pasture fed. They are not fed any animal by-products or growth stimulants and we do not administer routine antibiotics. However, they are given a mixture of probiotics and herbal remedies to keep them healthy.
