COMMENTS: Has spikey stems. Wear glvoes to harvest fruit as the spikes on the calyx are sharp.
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:Plant in seed trays Aug, Sep, Oct, Transplant Oct/Nov. Transplant at 4 – 6 weeks. depth 3x seed diameter. 60 – 75cm apart. Harvest 12 – 15 weeks. Cut fruit with scissors or sharp knife. Loves green house environment. Needs a long season. Start undercover and plant out when frosts have finished. Mulch well and keep well watered, may need staking.
COMPANIONS: Beans, peppers, lettuce, amaranth, thyme
ENEMIES: Avoid growing with potatoes
