COMMENTS: A culinary herb prominently featured in Italian cuisine, and also plays a major role in the Southeast Asian Cuisine of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. The plant tastes somewhat like anise, with a strong, pungent sweet smell. There are many varieties. Its best companion is the tomato plant, and the two complement each other in taste too. Hence the two are supplied together as a companion pack.
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS: Plant in September. Depth 3x seed diameter. 20 – 25cm apart. Harvest 10 – 12 weeks. Pick before flowering. Frost ender, low growing herb. Can be grown in pots indoors in colder months. As the plant develops, pinch out the top to encourage bushy growth. Pick off flowers to encourage more growth.
