Growing tips:
Cucamelons take a while to germinate and grows slowly in the first few weeks. Once the plant starts to climb it fast gains momentum and grows into a wonderful thick hedge providing you with these little gems for a full season and well into autumn. It is a perennial and will grow back the following season, developing tubers in the ground. The larger the tubers develop the faster and bigger the plant will grow back. You can germinate your seeds in seed trays filled with good compost. Keep them warm and moist and transplant them in rich organic soil when they are 5cm high. To sow directly in the soil, prepare your beds with organic compost. Cucamelons are vine crops, and will need to be grown on a trellis.

HARVEST: when fruit is 3cm long and firm

Edible parts of the plant: Cucamelon
