Linda says: This fantastic green mix can be eaten by humans, poultry, worms and can also be grown as a green manure.
This mix is to be grown so that free range and urban chickens can have their own fresh organic greens to graze. This is not a full feed diet and should supplement their diets. Eating fresh greens is the most natural diet chickens can eat.
SEASON: Late summer/ Autumn/ Winter
DISTANCE BETWEEN PLANTS: Broadcast seed evenly
Growing Tips:
To saw: Broadcast seed in well prepared beds rich in organic matter. Cover seeds with a layer of soil and water regularly. When the seeds germinate, allow them to grow to 7-10cm before allowing chickens to graze, as they like to forage on greens that are this height. Sow more seeds in separate patch for succession cropping.
