Lettuce is one of the easiest vegetables to grow from seed. Plant seeds throughout the growing season to have a steady supply. For balcony gardens grow 2 plants in a pot 20cm in depth and diameter.

Growing tips:
Sow lettuce in well composted organic soil and cover lightly. Since the seeds are so small, the clearing of stones and large clods of soil is important. Once the seeds have germinated, thin the seedlings out to 12-15cm between plants and water regularly. You can start harvesting the outer leaves of your Cut and Come again mixed lettuce varieties from 5 weeks and continue to harvest to keep the plant producing.
